Cobepa’s role is to contribute as a shareholder to the growth of the companies in which it invests. An efficient, fast growing company can benefit from Cobepa’s financial and strategic resources to grow while maintaining its stability.  A company which envisions a strategy of buy and build strategy will find at Cobepa the risk capital necessary for such acquisitions as well as the know-how necessary to implement them and a wide network of contacts.
 
Many situations can justify Cobepa’s intervention – it can be family owned companies wishing to stabilize their capital before starting development projects, or companies being entirely sold where management would like to maintain its operational independence, or companies in need of additional means to finance an acquisition or development plan.
 
In the case of large companies (with equity value above 200 M€), Cobepa is generally a significant minority shareholder in partnership with the other shareholders. In the other cases, Cobepa will favour an LBO type structure of which it is the main shareholder, except in specific situations such as, for instance, owner-managed buy outs.
