Ascentiel Expands its Reach and Offering with the Acquisition of PMQ

Madrid, 23 July 2026 – Cobepa is pleased to announce that its portfolio company Ascentiel, a specialty P&C insurance brokerage firm, has acquired PMQ. This transaction further strengthens Ascentiel’s presence in Iberia and reinforces its ambition to build a leading insurance brokerage platform covering a wide range of specialty insurance segments.

A trusted broker with deep regional roots

PMQ is a long-standing insurance brokerage firm based in Central-Northern Spain, with a strong presence in Castilla y León. The company serves a diversified client base of individuals, corporates and SMEs and intermediates a broad portfolio of non-life insurance products, including motor, industrial multi-risk, transport and household insurance.

PMQ has built a solid market position through long-term relationships with both clients and insurance carriers, supported by consistent operational performance and a strong track record of profitable growth. Its deep regional footprint and relationship-driven approach underpin its strong regional reputation.

Expanding Ascentiel’s offering and presence in Iberia

Following its expansion into Iberia in 2024 through the acquisition of Ascentiel International (formerly NIBW), a Madrid-based platform historically specialised in short-term motor insurance, Ascentiel has established a strong foundation for growth in Spain and Portugal.

The partnership with PMQ combines complementary geographic positioning and product expertise, allowing Ascentiel to further diversify its offering beyond motor insurance by leveraging PMQ’s well-established portfolio across key non-life segments. At the same time, it preserves the local, entrepreneur-led model that underpins both businesses, while providing access to enhanced distribution capabilities, broader carrier relationships and operational support.

Ascentiel joined Cobepa’s portfolio in December 2024. This partnership marks its second acquisition, following Eurodommages in May 2025, reflecting the continued expansion of the platform in its core markets.
