Cobepa acquires a minority stake in Babilou

Cobepa invests in Babilou, the French market leader of privately owned early childhood care facilities.

On September 30, Cobepa acquired a minority stake in Groupe Babilou S.A.S. from Alpha Private Equity, in a consortium with the French bank Société Générale.

Babilou is the leading operator of privately owned nurseries in France, mainly focusing on corporate clients. Babilou currently operates 250 nurseries and services a total of 500 nurseries welcoming 12,000 children every month. The group witnessed a strong growth over the years having opened 20 nurseries per year on average. Babilou is headquartered in Courbevoie (France), currently employs around 3,500 people and is highly regarded for the top-quality services offered to children and parents.

Alongside the founding Carle family, Cobepa aims to assist Babilou in continuing to develop its activities inside of France and in establishing its international footprint. Babilou's first international presence started with the acquisition in 2013 of Kid's Farwest, a nursery operator based in Belgium.
