International SOS, the world's leading international healthcare, medical and security assistance, and concierge services company, and International Health Care (IHC), a Brazil-based provider of health advisory, occupational health and remote and offshore health services, today announced a joint venture to leverage their mutual capabilities and services.
"Brazil's burgeoning economy has seen significant investment from our multinational clients, many of whom are already benefitting from IHC services in Brazil. The joint venture enables International SOS to partner with a premium, Brazil-based provider, whose technology, unique health services portfolio, logistics capabilities and extensive and established multinational clientele will benefit both organizations," said International SOS Chairman and CEO Arnaud Vaissié.
IHC was founded in 1999 by Dr. Ivan Drummond, a Brazilian surgeon who established the firm to address the ongoing need by companies working in remote locations of Brazil, and off its shores, for healthcare, medical assistance and evacuation services.
International SOS has invested in a 49 percent stake in IHC, which will continue to be managed by Dr Drummond, who will continue to serve as IHC's CEO.
"We are proud to be partnering with International SOS as we both share a commitment to delivering medical excellence. Additionally, we look forward to leveraging International SOS' global healthcare, medical and security assistance capabilities and distribution channels to support our Brazilian clients, who are increasingly investing in markets outside of Brazil," said Dr. Drummond.
