Cobepa sells its stake in d&b audiotechnik to Ardian
Cobepa has agreed to sell its stake in d&b audiotechnik ("d&b") to Ardian and the existing management team. d&b is the world's leading provider of professional premium audio equipment with operations in more than 70 countries.
Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Backnang, Germany, d&b develops and produces high-quality sound systems for mobile and permanently installed applications. Under the ownership of Cobepa and Odewald, d&b founded new subsidiaries in Europe, the USA and Japan; the company's turnover and production capacity more than doubled and the sales organisation was considerably strengthened. New owner Ardian will continue to support the company's international growth strategy.
Cobepa invested in d&b audiotechnik in 2011 alongside investment company Odewald & Compagnie. The conclusion of the sale is still subject to approval by the relevant antitrust authorities.
