SmartSD Expands into Spain with Acquisition of Hommax Sistemas

August 1, 2025 – Our portfolio company SmartSD, a leading value-added distributor of electronic security solutions in the Benelux and France, announced its strategic entry into Spain with the acquisition of Hommax Sistemas, a Valencia-based security distributor established in 1980.

With more than four decades of experience, Hommax has built a strong reputation in the Spanish market and was the first distributor in the country to obtain ISO 9001:2000 certification. This acquisition is fully aligned with SmartSD’s ambition to become a leading European platform in its sector.

Based in Picanya, Valencia, Hommax Sistemas is recognized as one of Spain’s premier distributors of electronic security equipment, including CCTV, intrusion detection, fire systems, and access control. The company partners with renowned global brands such as Hikvision, Honeywell, Optex, Risco, and Alarmtech.

This acquisition is a significant milestone in SmartSD’s European growth strategy, expanding its presence on the Iberian Peninsula and broadening its customer offering with Hommax’s well-established logistics network, technical expertise, and extensive product range.
